Maryam Choudhury AKA Muddyum is an award winning illustrator and designer based in Brooklyn, NY. She started her career illustrating and designing greeting cards, which she manufactured and sold at Paper Source stores all around the U.S. Muddyum’s love for children's books lead her to designing and art directing children's book at Simon and Schuster and then doing visual design at IBM. Muddyum is inspired by puzzles, puns, travel and textiles. She is also inspired by the idea that any material and any surface can be made into art.

Muddyum’s work been featured in Communication Arts Typography Annual, Creative Quarterly, Print Magazine, Sendpoint Books, Society of Newspaper Design, and Steve Heller and Gail Anderson’s book New Modernist Type and New Found Type.
